Following on from the success of last year's Street Party in the High Street, Caterham-on-the-Hill, Michael Lord the butcher and his wife Maureen have decided to enter into the spirit of the occasion and use the event to help raise funds for a local charity.
"We were closed for last year's Street Party but decided we would open this year and sell freshly cooked hot food, salads and drinks. I normally raise money for the Lifeboats, but thought this would be a great opportunity to help a local charity," said Michael.
When I heard about the Tandridge Community Fund, and how it needs to grow its fund to help worthy causes in Tandridge, I decided that was the charity I would like to support."
Michael and Maureen will be generously donating 25% of their sales during the Street Party to the Tandridge Community Fund ('TCF'). Mike Moss, Chairman of TCF, said: "I am delighted. It is very kind of Maureen and Michael to help our Fund. The faster the Fund grows, the sooner we will be able to start giving grants out to local causes."
