A new shop has opened at 228B Godstone Road, Whyteleafe called 'Nanny M's Mobility Scooters' selling state-of-the-art scooters designed by the shop owner, Tony Agassi. Perfect for the local, hilly terrain, the scooters feature speed controls allowing more power for going up hill, working headlights, indicators and a concealed, secure boot – a unique feature Tony is very proud of. Tony opened the shop in memory of his late mum, ‘Nanny M’ or Marjorie Norman. Well-respected in Tottenham where she used to live, Marjorie was a pillar of the local community and involved herself in lots of local charity work. Tony said: “Originally we were just wholesalers and my mum used to ride one of our scooters. After she died we decided to open the shop. We knew she would be very proud and decided to name the shop in her memory" Tony said that people do not have to be disabled to benefit from one of his scooters. Some of his customers buy a scooter so that they can manage the hills more easily if they don’t drive a car. With their sleek bodywork and alloy wheels, the fashionable bikes start at around £1,700. Tony has also gone into partnership with Acorn Stairlifts that has Dr Hilary Jones as its sponsor. For more information about the scooters or stairlifts, call Tony on 01883 818729. |
