The search is on for the funniest and most creative business name in Surrey with the launch of the Small Business Pun of the Year 2015. The awards, launched by build-your-own-app service Appsme.com, aims to find the shop or small business with the most side-splitting name. Business owners and members of the public can nominate their best small business pun by sharing a photo of the shop sign on the Appsme blog. They can also tweet or Instagram a photo along with the business’s details using the #SmallBizPun hashtag. Nick Barnett, CEO at Appsme, says: “We help small businesses market themselves by allowing them to create powerful mobile apps and, through this, we’ve seen how creative British entrepreneurs are when it comes to naming their business. “We’re all familiar with hair salons called a Cut Above the Rest and chippies named the Cod Father, but we’re sure there are many more like these!” The winner will receive an Apple Watch, a trophy and a suite of business applications to help them run their business on the go. Whoever nominates the winning business will also win their own Apple Watch. Winners will be chosen by a panel of branding experts, trade journalists and the team at Appsme. Closing date for entries is 7th June 2015 at which point finalists will be made aware if they’ve made the shortlist. |
