This month we feature Caterham resident, Matthew Baker of Champ Consultants accountants in Westway who also co-owns the Caterham Link magazine. Matthew is the Assistant District Commissioner for Beavers for Caterham District and Beaver Leader for 1st Caterham Scout Group as well as being treasurer for Ridge Radio. Birthplace: Worthing, West Sussex. Marital Status: Married to Chantal. Children: Three boys - Oliver (10), Christian (9) and William (6). Cars: Freelander. Pets: None. Pastimes: Scouting, Skiing, American Football. Favourite TV show: Hustle. Favourite books: Douglas Adams – Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. Favourite Food & Drink: Chocolate and Cider (not together though!) Childhood hero: Ray Clemence (Liverpool and England Goalkeeper of the '70s and '80s). Likes: Working locally and being part of the community. Dislikes: Commuting, homework, passport queues. Favourite song of all time: We Come 1 by Faithless. Favourite holiday destinations: Barbados and the Alps. Where would you most like to live? If not the south of England, then in a ski resort. Biggest influence on your life: My wife Chantal. Proudest moment: The births of my children. Most embarrassing moment: Walking into a lift with Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, talking to him and not recognising him. Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? Tandridge Council planning department. Who would you most like to meet? John Madden, he'd be great anecdote speaker of his life in the NFL. If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? After looking after family, I'd help Scouts with the great work they do and invest in some property in some great holiday locations around the world. |
