This month we feature Caterham resident Dave Roberts. Dave works as a volunteer at Ridge Radio hosting his popular 'Music for Grown Ups' show every Tuesday evening from 7pm-9pm and Saturday evening from 6pm-8pm. www.ridgeradio.co.uk. Birthplace: Moreton in the Marsh (how quaint), Gloucestershire. Marital Status: Married 32 years to my lovely Sally. Children: Fay 25 and Elly 22. Cars: Peugeot and Vauxhall. What I know or care about cars I could write on a frog's ear. Pets: Cat - Frankie (The Hairy One).
Childhood hero: Michael Palin and Spike Milligan. Pastimes: Ridge Radio; Singing in a band; Keep fit. Favourite Food & Drink: Sunday roast and real ale. Likes: Doing my show; Sunshine; Family; Working up a good sweat in the gym. Dislikes: Unfairness. Favourite TV show: Frasier. Favourite book: Tough one this....I'm not much of a reader. Anything factual or historical. Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? The delightful person who started the concept of reality TV. I think I'd eat the custard pie and throw something much harder at them. Favourite song of all time: Impossible to answer. It would depend on my mood but probably something by Jeff Buckley. Favourite holiday destination: Of the places I've been to I found Budapest to be the most fascinating. Biggest influence on your life: My Dad. Apparently I'm turning into him (according to my daughters). Proudest moment: The first time my daughters called me Dad. Most embarrassing moment: I went on a blind date. It turned out the girl was really after my mate. (I was only 14....I'm over it now). Where would you most like to live? Many places spring to mind but I could do a lot worse than Caterham so I'll stay here for now. (I wouldn't mind a bigger house). |
