St Catherine's Hospice is calling on adrenaline enthusiasts to take on a 100ft superhero themed abseil for their local hospice.

Following the success of their first abseil last year, St Catherine's is returning with their breathtaking challenge on the outside of the Sandman Signature hotel in Crawley. The thrilling abseil is taking place across two days, on the 7th and 8th of October, and falls during National Hospice Care Week, which aims to raise the profile and celebrate the work of local hospices across the UK.

Friday 7th October is primarily a chance for local businesses to challenge themselves in aid of their local hospice whilst Saturday 8th October's abseil is open to everyone in the community. One thing's for certain though, whether you choose to descend with friends or work colleagues or abseil as a personal challenge, you won't regret your decision when you reach the top of the Sandman Signature Hotel and see the sensational views.

Last year, Robin Lord, who works as Digital Marketing and Communications Executive at St Catherine's, took the plunge. He said, "The abseil was an experience I'll never forget. It was great to take on a personal challenge whilst helping to support terminally ill local people. I'd definitely recommend people take the chance to do something different this October and become a St Catherine's superhero abseiler."

Louise Brown, Events Fundraiser at St Catherine's organises the challenge. She said, "Our superhero abseil is a great chance to complete a personal goal or conquer a fear. Your bravery will help make sure we can continue to be there to care for local people and their family and friends when they need us most."

To take part, you'll be asked to commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £200, which is enough to fund a patient visiting St Catherine's Day Hospice for a day to benefit from wellbeing activities.
