This month we feature local resident Beverley Connolly, Tandridge District Councillor for Caterham Harestone ward, and Chairman of the East Surrey Museum Management Committee. Beverley is also Chairman of the North Tandridge Youth Group and a founder member of The Soper Hall Group. Birthplace: Gravesend, Kent. Marital Status: Married to Tim. Children: Four - Laura, 14; Alex, 12; Ben, 10 and Becca, 9. (I had four in under five years!) Cars: One very battered blue Chrysler Voyager full of junk and sports equipment. Pets: Two dogs and three cats. Favourite Food and Drink: Pink wine and my lovely Sunday roasts.Childhood hero: Freddie Mercury. Pastimes: Walking the dogs, tennis, reading, yoga, dance, visiting Tandridge's splendid pubs. Likes: Intelligent debate, challenges, winning elections, opera, fashion. Dislikes: Cucumber, melon, pomposity, flat shoes, country and western music, spiders. Favourite TV show: Question Time/X Factor. Favourite books: 'Birdsong' by Sebastian Faulks Who would you most like to throw a custard pie at? Gordon Brown because of the appalling mess he has left this country in and his complete neglect of the armed services. Favourite song of all time: I will survive - Gloria Gaynor. Favourite holiday destination: Bali Biggest influence on your life: My nan - I miss her every day. Proudest moment: As mum of four, I am proud every day but, professionally, as agent in 2008, winning the Caterham Valley seat for Jane Ingham, winning Harestone for Michael Cooper - together with five Parish Council seats - making seven out of seven! Where would you most like to live? I think that Tandridge is a most beautiful area and I would not want to live anywhere else. Who would you most like to meet? Richard Branson. If you won the Lottery jackpot, how would you spend it? Wisely. |
