Caterham resident Katie Grinsell aged 20, will be putting herself through a real test of endurance when she climbs Mount Kilimanjaro later this summer. So far Katie has raised £2,440 in sponsorship to provide better education and water supplies for children in Tanzania, through car boot sales, bar crawls, cake sales, raffles and selling unwanted items on E-bay. Katie first got involved in the charity through the University of Nottingham Trent where a group of her friends are also participating in the climb. The expedition will take just six days to climb to the top of the roof of Africa and back down again. Katie said: "I'm most nervous about the altitude as there is no way of training for that. We'll just have to see how I cope with it when I'm up there. It's a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause and it will be a once in a lifetime experience." Katie has been training by climbing Box Hill on the weekends and taking her dogs for long walks so she is fully fit for the task ahead.
