After a long wait, traders in the High Street, Caterham-on-the-Hill were delighted to see a new CCTV camera being installed this week to replace the previous one that had been out of action since 2009. Surrey Police arranged for the installation of the new camera which will be independently monitored at Caterham Police Station.

Vivian Shiplee, owner of Vivace Pianos, said: 'I'm really pleased to see that a new camera has been installed. When one of my shop windows was deliberately smashed just before the first Festival Street Party in 2009 I was hoping the culprits had been caught on CCTV, but the camera that was in place back then wasn't working, so there was no footage."
