The weekend is part of the London 2012 Open Weekend which celebrates 'one year to go' until the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games begin. Over 1,000 unique sporting and cultural initiatives will be taking place all over the country with something on offer for everyone. Tandridge Leisure's two day extravaganza kicks off at de Stafford Sports Centre on Saturday 23rd where there will be beat-the-goalie, Kiddi-karts, tennis master classes and fitness challenges. At Tandridge Leisure Centre there will be magic, a bouncy castle, synchronised swimming display, an art exhibition, drama and fitness challenges. At both centres there will be swimming for £1, face-painting and ice cream (small charge) and a poster competition, where entrants have a chance to get their entry published in Tandridge Leisure's October Half Term brochure. Sebastian Coe, Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, said: "I'd encourage people to get involved at a local event as part of this nationwide celebration – it's going to be amazing."
