The incident happened shortly before 5pm in Addison Road, Caterham-on-the-Hill, as the 29-year-old victim sat in his black Ford Focus when he was approached by three suspects. The suspects demanded the victim's money and began punching him. They escaped with a small amount of cash and a packet of cigarettes. The victim was not seriously injured. The suspects are described as two white men, one of whom was wearing a grey hooded top, and a mixed-race man. Investigating Officer Detective Constable Lewis Flanagan said: "We have carried out house-to-house enquiries in the area and I am keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident but who has not yet spoken to an officer. It is important we build up a clear picture of the circumstances surrounding this robbery and how this man came to be injured. "I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Addison Road, Caterham, at approximately 5pm on Monday, 8th August, as your information, however small, could prove important." Two men have been arrested in connection with this incident. A 21-year-old and a 25-year-old, both from Caterham, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
