Whyteleafe Parish Council has spruced up its image and has been renamed 'Whyteleafe Village Council', with a new logo to go with the new name. The council has been working to develop a greater community spirit in Whyteleafe and improve communication between the council and residents. The Whyteleafe Fair in July, organised by the council members and other helpers, was enjoyed by many local people and the council was delighted at the sense of commuity spirit created by the occasion. To celebrate its fresh identity and improve communication, the council has launched a new website designed by local website designer, Ashley Burridge. The website is being kept up to date with local news and events, as well as providing the facility for residents to leave their comments and vote on local issues. Visitors to the site can also see who their local parish councillors are and download council meeting notes. The site is easy to navigate and the text can be made larger for the visually impaired. Chairman of Whyteleafe Village Council, Celia Rudland said: "Many Whyteleafe residents do not have the time to attend the council meetings so the website provides an alternative way for local people to make their views known to the council. We really hope residents will use the website to support the work of their Village Council." To view the new website go to www.whyteleafecouncil.org.uk |
