Hillcroft Primary School is celebrating following the publication of the school's latest OFSTED report. During their visit on 22nd and 23rd January, the team of three Inspectors concluded that Hillcroft Primary School is a good school that has improved significantly since the last inspection. During their rigorous inspection the team observed lessons and spoke to staff, children, Governors, parents and carers. Further evidence was also provided by the parents who completed questionnaires. In their report, the team highlighted what they found to be some of the notable features of Hillcroft Primary School including; the quality of the school's leadership, the progress of the children, the significant improvement in the quality of teaching and the good behaviour of pupils, commenting that the children of Hillcroft are 'proud of their school'. In addition, the report highlighted that the school has an accurate view of its strengths and weaknesses and has the capacity to improve further. Sixty three parents took part in the parent survey, which is higher than in many other local schools. 100% of the parents who did take part said that their child was happy in school, felt safe, was well looked after, taught well and that they would recommend the school to others. Mrs Stephanie Scutter, Headteacher, said: "I am absolutely delighted that the hard work of staff, students, Governors and parents has been recognised and celebrated in this report and that the significant improvements we have made have been so clearly highlighted. The report also indicates what we can do to improve further and I am in no doubt that with the continued commitment and support of everyone involved, Hillcroft will become an 'outstanding' school. "This report, to some extent tops what has been a remarkable year at Hillcroft with the creation of a new Foundation Stage unit, the best SATs results in the history of the school and being awarded the silver anti bullying mark – the first school in Surrey to achieve this prestigious award." |
