Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling on people in the Surrey area to join in the charity's Blooming Great Tea Party celebrations this summer. To launch the event West Ham Chairman David Gold and Volunteer Press Officer Karen promoted the campaign on a glorious sunny morning at David's home 'The Chalet' in Caterham. The sumptuous cup cakes on display for the photo call were kindly donated by Coughlans of Croydon and sported the Marie Curie logo and the Hammers insignia. Surrey residents are invited to hold their own tea party any time during June and July to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Your tea party, however big or small, will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide free end–of-life care for local people in their own homes. You can hold your party wherever you want - at home, work, in your local club or school. The party could be anything from tea with friends to an elegant high tea or a sports-club match tea - the ideas are endless. So why not put the kettle on and get together for the charity's annual Blooming Great Tea Party. David Gold said: "Now is the time to sign up for a truly great tea party event. It's a great opportunity to invite your friends and family over for a cuppa and a slice of cake while raising vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care." Every pound raised will help Marie Curie Nurses look after someone with a terminal illness, so raise your cup and join in the fun of the Blooming Great Tea Party. Marie Curie has put together a free pack containing lots of things to help you organise your party along with some fundraising ideas and themes to inspire and help you raise money. The fantastic tea party pack includes celebrity recipes, handy bunting and a tea –themed quiz so please sign up today and tell all your friends about it.
