The two-day DeFest music festival attracted huge crowds last weekend (25th-26th May), thanks to the great line-up of bands and perfect weather! The event which took place at de Stafford School in Burntwood Lane, Caterham, was the first event of this year's Caterham Festival, getting it off to a fantastic start. Saturday featured performances by rock bands including 'Stolen ID', 'Papa Amos', 'Wot's Cookin' and 'Kick', while Sunday had more of a vintage theme to it, with renditions by some fabulous local singers including Jenny Green, Noelle Vaughan and Elvis tribute singer, Danny Fisher. Si Cranstoun and his band had everyone up dancing and the crowd stayed on their feet for the Jive Aces (as seen on the X Factor!) The new Chairman of Tandridge District Council, Beverley Connoolly opened the event and congratulated Mark Jones and his team of helpers for organising another superb community event. Amongst the many stalls was a Ridge Radio stand selling raffle tickets and the ever-popular Pimms tent run by Caterham Rotary Club.
