Berkeley, the developers of Oakgrove in Caterham-on-the-Hill, is inviting local residents to contribute to a time capsule due to be buried on-site and then re-opened in 25 years' time in 2038. Submissions should relate to the local area. Suggested topics include: My favourite local place; my most cherished Caterham memory or what makes Caterham great. Entries can take any form – written, visual or physical – but the latter must not exceed 20cm in length or 10cm in width. Local primary schools Clifton Hill and Hillcroft are already involved in the project. Pupils took home Summer Activity Packs containing a number of suggested activities. Three of the completed submissions from each school will be chosen and placed in the capsule, alongside three winners from local residents. The time capsule will be placed in the ground at Oakgrove on November 6th by Councillor Eithne Webster and Matthew Biddle, Managing Director of Berkeley Homes. The ceremony will be attended by pupils and local residents. Deadline for entries is October 15th. Those wishing to participate should contact Emma Stevens on 01483 561119 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. |
