Despite the cold, wet weather on the morning of Saturday 9th November, the Autumn Fayre held by the League of Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital was a success, raising £1,740.00.
A steady flow of people attended the Fayre held in the United Reformed Church in Harestone Valley Road, many of them finishing their visit with a delicious Ploughman's lunch or home-made cake and cup of tea.
Member of the League of Friends, Jean Baker, said: “I would like to say a big 'thank you' to all those volunteers who manned the stalls or made the lunches and cakes, together with those who provided knitted goods, books, bric-a-brac etc. It is extremely gratifying to know that there is such demonstrative and active support to help us purchase additional equipment and amenities for our much valued local facility Caterham Dene Hospital.”
