'Tulip +' by Mike Pockney Old Coulsdon Camera Club Summer is around the corner and now is the time for photographers to get up close with the natural world to see things you may not notice with the naked eye. 'Tulip+' is a close-up of the inside of a tulip showing the patterns on the petals with a little in-computer enhancement to the stamens to make them look diamond-studded. Why not try using your camera on Macro setting (look for a little flower symbol) and see what you can achieve with close-up images? Flowers will stay still (unless its windy) so as more of a challenge try butterflies and other insects - you might be surprised at how intricate they are ? Old Coulsdon Camera Club ('OCCC') is a friendly club for photographers of all abilities and we welcome visitors and new members. Why not come along and meet us at one of our meetings in June? June 3rd: Members Evening - Advice and demonstrations. June 10th: Outings competition - photos from our trips out. June 17th: AGM and Prize Giving. June 24th: Summer recess - meet at a local public house. We meet each Tuesday evening (7.45pm for 8pm) in Cameron Hall, Canons Hill, Old Coulsdon. Visitors £2 (refunded on joining).
