Giles Tomsett. St Catherine’s Hospice is delighted to announce the appointment of Giles Tomsett as Chief Executive. Giles has extensive leadership experience at board level with UK and American companies in the commercial healthcare service sector. His commercial background and knowledge of the English health and social care market will be a huge asset when supporting the hospice in developing and growing in the challenging market place we now operate in. Giles said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead St Catherine’s Hospice; an established charity with more than 30 years’ experience of caring for its community. St Catherine’s commitment to helping local people, and to reach out to even more people who need our help in the next four years, makes this role hugely exciting. I look forward to meeting its many supporters, building on the fantastic work that Shaun O’Leary, current Chief Executive of St Catherine’s, has led and to joining a talented team that’s committed to meeting the needs of its local community.” Simon Turpitt, St Catherine’s Chairman, said: “I am very pleased that Giles has accepted the role of Chief Executive. With Shaun leaving us with a great legacy, St Catherine’s needs a leader who is committed to driving us to continue to deliver the highest quality hospice care possible and working with our external partners in the NHS and other public and voluntary sector organisations to support patients at the end of their life. I look forward to working with him.” The recruitment process was provided by Harvey Nash alongside a committee made up of St Catherine’s trustees, led by Simon Turpitt, supported by meetings with members of the Senior Management Team, and a volunteer. |
