Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Caterham on Tuesday, 14 April. The incident happened in Morrison's supermarket car park in Church Walk, just before 1pm when a man in his 70s was approached by two men. One is believed to have pushed the victim to the floor whilst the other man pushed him into the vehicle and stole various items from the car. The first man is described as white, approximately six foot tall, in his 20s, of medium build, wearing light blue jeans, and a light grey tee shirt with a big logo on the left chest area. The second man is described as being white and of average build. Both men fled the scene with one man reported running in the direction of the main car park entrance. Investigating officer, Detective Constable Joanne Sewell said: "This has been an extremely distressing ordeal for the man concerned and took place during a busy time of day, in a busy car park. "I am urging anyone who was in the area around this time and may have seen or heard anything strange or suspicious or indeed seen the actual men described, to contact us with details as a matter of urgency. "It might be that you saw them in the area in the lead up to the attack, or fleeing from the scene in a shaken up manner. Any information, no matter how small it might seem, may prove vital in the investigation and we would like to hear from you.” Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police on 101 or report it online at https://my.surrey.police.uk/splonlinereportingweb quoting reference number 45150030422.
