Church Walk in Caterham will have some very special visitors next Saturday (24 October) when  Santa's will descend on the shopping area to exclusively launch Caterham's Santa Run in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

There will be plenty of on the day festivities and fun to keep all ages entertained with traditional stalls, free mince pies and a special on the day discount for anyone signing up to take part in the Santa Run at Caterham School on Sunday 22 November. There'll also be chance to don a Santa suit to take part in a Christmas conga or take a festive selfie. 

St Catherine's Santa Run is a family friendly 3km run, perfect for keeping all ages 'elfy and helping a local hospice raise money for a great claus. 

Through the launch, St Catherine's is also hoping to raise awareness of their work as Caterham's local hospice provider. The hospice provides specialised end of life care through patient wellbeing services including: exercise groups, pain management clinics and relaxation therapies at their Day Hospice in Foxon Lane and also cares for Caterham residents in the comfort and surroundings of their own homes. Last year, St Catherine's received 116 referrals for Caterham residents and 34 Caterham residents got lucky on the St Catherine's lottery, collectively winning over £3,000.

Michaela Clements, Events Fundraiser at St Catherine's, said: "By taking part in our Caterham Santa Run, you'll be helping us make the festive season as comfortable as possible for our patients and their family and friends.  Each year, it costs us £180,000 to provide our specialised care across Sussex and Surrey over the 12 days of Christmas. With your support, we can help patients and families make, what may be their last Christmas together, memorable  and continue to be there for Caterham residents when and where they need us most."
