Police officers in Tandridge are appealing for witnesses of a stolen van to get in touch with any information. The vehicle was left parked on the driveway of an address Southdown Road, Caterham and it was taken at around 12:45pm on Friday, 8 January. The stolen vehicle was seen driving away in the direction of Southdown Road. A blue saloon type car was also seen by the victim around the time of the offence but it is unknown whether this is connected to the incident. The van is described as being a black Renault Trafic ‘Sport' with alloy wheels, an old style roof rack and registration number SD11EJU. It has a small dent on the bonnet, a dent on the rear door above the number plate which is also marked by a marker pen, colour coded bumpers and there is also a silver metal plate on the rear bumper. The van contained a quantity of Makita and Hitachi work tools which are marked with ‘NS' or ‘Wood Brothers'. The tools are collectively worth several thousand pounds and are vital to the victim's business. A member of public later reported seeing a van matching the description of the stolen vehicle being driven erratically at around 8pm the same day on the A22 Wapse's Lodge roundabout going towards Woldingham Rail Station Anyone with any information about the van or may have been offered tools for sale matching the description of the stolen items is urged to contact Surrey Police by either using our online reporting system found at http://www.surrey.police.uk/ or calling 101 quoting reference 45160002036.
