The Soper Hall Community Centre Ltd. (‘SHCCL’) Board is delighted to announce that the Soper Hall in Harestone Valley Road, Caterham, is now licensed as a wedding venue. This news means that couples who would prefer to have a non-religious service can be married at this historical building in the centre of Caterham. Built in 1911 as offices for Caterham Urban District Council, 100 years later Tandridge District Council agreed to transfer ownership of the building to SHCCL for use as a community facility. Chairman of SHCCL, Councillor Beverley Connolly, said: “The Board of Directors of SHCCL are absolutely thrilled that we now have our wedding licence. It has been one of our aims ever since we took over the management of the hall and we are so happy that we will now have local couples getting married in our beautiful heritage building. “The Hall is well linked to rail and road networks and can seat up to 120 people in glorious wood panelled surroundings. Indeed, this means that you can get married and have your reception all at the same location!” For more information about the Soper Hall visit www.soperhall.org.uk.
