Blue skies and sunshine for first ever Colour Runby James Highsted Sausages sizzled and music was played at the first ever Sausage and Cider Music Festival at the John Fisher Sports Ground, Warlingham, on Saturday 23rd July. The two day festival, held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July, saw a selection of locally brewed ciders, multi-cultural cuisine, live music and a lively Colour Run. Sunday’s event had a vintage theme, classic cars and Rat Pack-themed music. The popular Colour Run saw the participants doused in different coloured powder - made up of cornflour and edible food colouring - as they jogged around the football pitch. Co-organiser, Steve Townsend, from One Stop Entertainment Management, said: “I had seen the Hyde Park Colour Run which did really well, and the kids loved it, but Hyde Park is a long way to go to so we decided to do something locally here in Warlingham. “Everyone has really enjoyed it, so we are looking to do another one next year as it has been so popular. “We set this event up to raise money for the Hamsey Green Rangers football team which has about 200 youngsters regularly playing. The kids are all part of the football club and this event is a good way of supporting them.” |
