On Friday 14th July, East Surrey Museum in Caterham Valley celebrated a positive year, as the lease on its premises was signed for a further five years with Tandridge District Council.
Chairman of the Trustees of the Museum, Roger Packham, said: “We are delighted that Tandridge Councillors recognise the value of the Museum to the whole community and were so supportive in enabling us to stay in this iconic building.
“We are also very fortunate and grateful to have had support from many of the local Parish Councils this year and we look forward to working with them in the future to mutual benefit.”
At this year’s AGM, Councillor Beverley Connolly stepped down after eight years as Chairman of the Management Committee, and the newly elected Chairman, Councillor Rod Stead, thanked her for her enthusiastic support and commitment over recent years.
Cllr. Stead congratulated and thanked all the volunteers who keep the Museum running for the community throughout the year, and also thanked the curator, Chris Taylor, for all his commitment to the success and progress of the Museum.
