Following a recent survey regarding the future of the Soper Hall, an Open Evening is being held to enable local residents and organisations to find out more about the plans for its future. In July, the Soper Hall Group, part of the Caterham Community Partnership, distributed the survey in The Caterham and District Independent. Over a hundred local people completed the survey, three quarters of them from Caterham Valley. The findings showed overwhelming support for the Soper Hall to continue as a historic venue for community activities and involvement. Suggestions for the hall's future were varied, with some believing it would be the ideal venue for a local cinema and others imagining it as a perfect place to hold meetings and small exhibitions. The Open Evening is following- up on the survey to encourage more people to express their views on the plans for the building. It will present those who attend with the ideal opportunity to ask questions and have some influence on the future of the Soper Hall by becoming involved in the decision making process. The Open Evening is being held in the Soper Hall on Friday 17th September from 6pm to 8pm. If you would like to attend please e-mail info@soperhall. org.uk or telephone 01883 347284. |
