Surrey Police is appealing for information after a pensioner's mobility scooter was stolen in Warlingham on Thursday, 24th March.

The 84-year old gentleman left his electric scooter on Lime Grove, near the park, and some time between 3pm and 3.30pm, it was stolen. The keys were not left on the scooter.

The folding-frame blue scooter can fit in the boot of a car and is worth approximately £900.

Warlingham Police Community Support Officer Suzanne Carroll visited the victim on Saturday (26th March). She said: "This is a really shocking theft as whoever stole it must have realised it was an elderly person's mobility scooter.

"This will have a massive impact on the gentleman affecting how he gets out and about plus it is an expensive item so not easily replaceable.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in Lime Grove, Warlingham, on Thursday, 24th March, between 3pm and 3.30pm, to think back. Perhaps you witnessed something suspicious but didn't realise it at the time. Your information could be all we need to reunite this elderly man with his life-line."
