Old Caterhamians RFC have recently joined the growing list of Rugby Union clubs in Surrey who have achieved the Rugby Football Union (RFU) Accreditation. At the Old Cats Club Lunch on Saturday 30th November, the club’s chairman Steven Dalgleish and Girls Youth Manager, Karen Wimble, were presented with the award, which demonstrates the club’s dedication to raise its standard of rugby union and develop its programme. Steven and Karen have been working for eight years towards the full award after starting their first Seal of Approval for the Mini and Youth section of the club in 2006. Old Caterhamians is a community- based, fully inclusive rugby club. Men, women, youth and minis teams all exist at the club, with the accreditation proving that all the teams are operating at a very high standard. Chairman Steve Dalgleish said: “The award ensures that the club maintains England Rugby’s required level of quality coaching and safety throughout all ages being coached at the club. This is only one advantage of the award as it also allows access to further funding opportunities which will allow the club to continue delivering the highest quality of coaching and improved facilities to all that wish to play the game.” The club is always looking for players at every level and invites you to give rugby union a go! All information regarding the teams and individual training times can be found on the club website – www.oldcats.co.uk Old Caterhamians also invite you to come along at any time, watch a game and enjoy the atmosphere of your local rugby club.
