October began with Leafe hosting ambitious Channel Islanders Guernsey at Church Road in the FA Trophy. Leafe found themselves three down at half time but fought back with two late goals to make the final scoreline 3-2 in front of 252 spectators. The following week Leafe travelled to Medway to face Lordswood, again finding themselves behind at half time, but managing to turn around a two goal deficit to emerge 4-2 victors, with a rousing second half performance including a spectacular strike from striker Jay Garrick. October was rounded off with a comfortable 4-0 home win against Fisher Athletic. November started with a two-legged Macron Kent Cup affair against strugglers Sevenoaks. A bad tempered first leg in which two red and numerous yellow cards were shown ended in a 3-1 victory to Sevenoaks. However, the following week Leafe again managed to turn things around with an emphatic 4-0 win and will face Erith & Belvedere in the next round. The run of good form continued the following week, a goal in each half was enough to secure a 2-0 win against Greenwich Borough, moving Leafe up to 5th in the table. Leafe will play two home games in December. First at home to unbeaten high flyers Erith Town on Saturday 15th of December and then Beckenham Town on Boxing Day, which will be a 3pm kick off. Finally, all at the Leafe would like to pay their respects in memory of a great supporter of the club Allen Kelly who sadly passed away this week. Allen will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all of us. |
