After losing two close relatives in the last few years, Scott Huntley from Caterham decided to try and raise £10,000 to split between two charities that helped his family, the Salisbury Hospice Charity and Parkinsons UK. Having been a runner all his life, Scott chose to undertake the huge challenge of running 12 marathons in 12 months “come rain or shine”! So far Scott has run six marathons, including the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 6th April and the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 25th May. The remaining Marathons are the Bath Marathon on 27th July, the Cheddar Gorge Marathon on 17th August, the Chester Marathon on 14th September, the Bournemouth Marathon on 5th October, the Snowdon Marathon on 25th October and the Saxon Shore Marathon on 30th November. Scott said: “Both the charities helped members of my family live with comfort and pass away with the dignity they deserved and the work they do is simply superb. Without charitable donations they would be unable to help those in severe need.” Donations can be made via the ‘MyDonate’ website: https://mydonate.bt.com/fu ndraisers/12in12 |
